I try not to be too political on this blog but there are times where that is impossible and I just have to come out and say things. I don’t know how much I will be posting this week because like many employed by the US Federal Government we are dealing with the fallout from the 2024 Election, the rise of Elon Musk, and what I have dubbed the DOGE Disaster.
I have so much work to get done that it’s crazy and yet in a few weeks I’m expected to come into an office (a 2 hour commute) for literally no reason. I have members of my team being fired simply for being “probationary” employees. I have projects that are now under uncertain circumstances due to unclear guidance. All of this while I am worried about my own career and whether I will even have a job (and a home) in the future.
Needless to say I am at my wits end so I’m sure missing a few days of blogging won’t matter much in the long run. There’s only so much any of us can do and frankly we live in such turbulent times that getting through each day unscathed is a gift in and of itself.
