About

Hey there! I’m Kyle, and writing an About Me page feels harder than filling out a dating app bio. But hey, let’s give it a shot!

I launched this blog in 2024 at the age of 36, but my love for anime started way earlier. I’ve been a fan since the mid-’90s, and yes—I’m a full-fledged weeb. I always credit Yu Yu Hakusho as the anime that pulled me in, but honestly, I was watching way before that. Yu Yu Hakusho hit Toonami in the early 2000s, yet my childhood was already packed with Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Digimon, and Pokémon. No matter how many series I’ve watched since then, Yu Yu Hakusho still holds the top spot as my all-time favorite.

Gaming has been a huge part of my life, too. My first gaming memory? Playing Super Mario Land on the original brick Game Boy. I grew up during the golden age of gaming when the Super Nintendo launched, and Sega Genesis dominated living rooms. My family owned a Genesis, and I still have it! We also had a Windows ‘95 computer (with dial-up internet, of course), and I spent hours playing Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and The Oregon Trail—on those classic green monochrome screens. Over the years, I’ve owned almost every major console, but today, I stick to my Xbox Series X and gaming laptop. My favorite game from the past decade? Baldur’s Gate 3, hands down.

Outside of anime and gaming, I’ve built a career across multiple fields. I earned a bachelor’s degree in American History with a minor in American Government. I’ve worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for over 20 years, serving as both a career and volunteer first responder. I also spent four years in the U.S. Air Force as a Surgical Technician. Now, I handle commercial real estate for the U.S. Federal Government.

In recent years, my passion for anime and gaming has only grown stronger. Maybe I’m just chasing nostalgia. Maybe it’s a midlife crisis. Either way, I jumped back into the fandom, started attending conventions, and created this blog to share my experiences. My goal? To turn this into something bigger. Maybe a career, maybe just a fun side hustle that fuels my love for anime and gaming. Either way, I’m here to connect, share my thoughts, and geek out with fellow fans. That’s me in a nutshell! Want to know more? Just ask!
