Oh, no! Where did Kyle go?! About a week after starting the blog I started to feel not so great and by the time Tuesday rolled around and I needed to write a post…I was not into it. That lasted past Thursday as well. If you didn’t know I’ve chosen those days for posting major blog articles and just randomly posting anime news on any other day it pops up.

I am sorry for being missing in action for a week and let me tell you why that happened.

Last week I was not feeling well. It wasn’t one of those blah, let’s throw up, oh no it’s covid, sort of sicknesses. It was an old friend that sometimes shows up randomly and often is unexpected…depression. When I get depressed it hits me like a brick. My mood sours, I don’t want to do much, and I can’t sleep. I randomly take leave from work. I often have nightmares with flashbacks of my past all night long and it just makes for a miserable time.

Unlike, a lot of people who say they have depression and it’s really just them not feeling great (some do it because of attention) I have it pretty legitimately. When I was 15 I became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and I centered a lot of life on ambulances. By 18 I was a patient care giver on my own and doing fine and my mid twenties I was in the military. Never in a combat role but of course medical. So truly believe me when I tell you that I’ve seen some shit that I can’t shake. I have seen people of all ages die. I have seen families torn apart, I have seen drugs destroy neighborhoods, and all sorts of things.

It’s never been diagnosed but I’m pretty sure I have PTSD. Sorry to just throw that heaviness out there but I wanted people coming to this new blog and seeing it almost abandoned after the first week to have an idea of where I am, what I’m doing, and why they shouldn’t worry about it. The blog is fine. I’ll be writing again tomorrow. I have a few things about the anime industry I want to get off my chest and it’s a good time for it.

This week I want to talk about my frustration with how anime studios produce anime, or rather their motivations, where we see so many great series get cancelled after the first season. I also want to review Overlord and a few others shows that I have recently binged. I think I’d really like to make a post about my anime figure collection so far as well.

So, stay tuned. Plenty to come from my brain this week and we’ll see how things go.

Thank God I Don’t Need This. Maybe You Do. Help Is Out There.
